A busy yet wonderful day in Chuckatuck. This morning was a good service and there we raised our voices in prayer and song. This month’s healing service where we offered friends and family to God in prayer for healing and regeneration. The big event of the afternoon was the Parish Open House celebrating our 375th Anniversary. There had to be about 40 in attendance and Kathy told a lot about the human side of the Parish and its relationship with Chuckatuck, Virginia, and US History. A great day all around.

In worship we heard stories of the flood, Paul’s direction to love and welcome without judgement, and Jesus’ command to “forgive 77 (or 70 x 7) times. We considered how our default relationship is one of love and not judgment, no matter how hard that would be for us. We were reminded of the simple song, “We are One in the Spirit” and how that shapes our life as Christians – we work and walk with our neighbors and cherish the relationship. God is our example – like the story went (as told by Jesus), the lord forgave 10,000 talents of debt (about 60 million days’ labor). How do we reflect the forgiveness that God shows us in our lives?

I invite your comments,
