Warm and humid weather greeted us on this Last Sunday after the Epiphany. We have had a rewarding journey having our eyes opened to God’s presence around us. We were especially energized this morning with the 4 young cousins in the balcony/gallery. There really is an amazing amount of energy in the presence of 4 youngsters. It really is a blessing for us to have them with us. Today was the close of our Epiphany journey and we begin our Lenten journey with Shrove Tuesday (yum, pancakes) and Ash Wednesday service. Please consider how you might find God in a new place this Lent.
In worship, we heartily bid farewell to the Alleluias and observed the Transfiguration of Jesus. Our lessons shared the story of Elijah and Elisha as leadership transferred from the elder to the younger. We also heard Paul tell the believers in Corinth about the necessity of our sharing God’s message to the world. The question we can ask ourselves when we feel overwhelmed – “if not us, then who” does God’s work?
I invite your comments,
