Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday – Thank you to all who made our pancake supper a huge success. We served more people last night than any other Shrove Tuesday in my tenure – 97 people dined at St. John’s. Congratulations and a special thanks to all who, prepared, served, flipped, and cleaned up on Shrove Tuesday.
We also had a good celebration of the Imposition of Ashes and Holy Eucharist at noon on Ash Wednesday. May all who journey this Lent be blessed on their journey.
Lenten Program – This year we will participate in The Good Book Club hosted by Forward Movement press as our Lenten Program. Next week we will cover chapter 1 materials. If you need a handout please contact the Rector.
Inclement Weather Policy – Safety is first and foremost at St. John’s. We will follow the Suffolk School District with respect to closures. If we have an event planned expect it to continue as scheduled BUT if you do NOT feel safe getting to the Church, please stay home. Your safety is more important to us than your presence is.

Thought for the week – God so loved the world: So which world is it that God loves? Is it the world, the creation in its original glory, or is it the world that is fallen, broken, imperfect, sinful? Well, of course it’s both.
