Sermon from Apr. 29:

Bishop Diocesan Search – In light of Bishop Holly’s resignation, the Diocese has taken the first steps to elect our next Bishop Diocesan. In coming weeks there will be an opportunity for lay input into describing the qualities desired in our next Episcopal leader. In light of this, it can be useful to look at the ordination vow for a Bishop to help formulate who will best lead us. Please take a look at this link: the examination of a Bishop.

Formation Classes – We will begin our discussion of “My Servants the Prophets,” chapter 7, Micah next week. Check you Wednesday Christian Education e-mail for the chapter as some chapters will take more than one Sunday to get through. All are invited to join the conversation in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am.

Sunday’s Psalm – Our Psalm will be spoken this week.

Church Quiz – Over the coming weeks we will have a “Church Quiz” as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question Concerning the book of Haggai: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Answer: The book of Haggai is found in the Lesser Prophets division of the Old Testament; it has 2 chapters.
This week’s question: Concerning the book of Hebrews: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Look for the answer next week.

2018 Flower Chart – The schedule for 2018 is posted in the Narthex. Please sign-up for your special days. If you have any questions, contact Lynn.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Ongoing: Tuesdays – Boy Scouts meeting. May 8 – Vestry meeting; May 15 – CAPS presentation and dessert.

Thought for the week – Eucharist: Every piece of bread and sip of wine is precisely the same one: there is one bread, and that is Christ. We receive all of Christ in communion, not just a piece of him. If we break the loaf into a thousand pieces, there’s still only one Christ—and each of us receives all of him.
