Happy celebration of the Day of Pentecost. What a glorious day to gather to worship and to celebrate the remembrance of the day the disciples recognized the Holy Spirit among them. While this past week has prevented us from being able to worship at the outdoor altar – too wet – we didn’t let that stop having a festive service. We also took the opportunity to fellowship with a great potluck, capping our Pentecost celebration with a flare.
In church we heard a recounting of the coming of the Holy Spirit to the 120 gathered and how the Holy Spirit helped the disciples convey the message of God among us into a message others could understand – in their own context and in their own language. As we remember our interaction with God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit we are reminded that we are called to love, to share God’s grace to ALL, and to be energized in our ministry by the inspiration of the Spirit.
