Who we are -or- Who are we? – The Rector has a handout which poses questions for reflection on and consideration of 10 questions about the Parish Church, an Episcopal Diocese, and the Episcopal Church in general. Please look at the handout and consider the questions. We will look at the reflections as our Bishop Search begins in earnest.

Crab & Brats Fellowship gathering – Sunday August 26, we will hold our annual Crab & Brats fellowship event for the Parish and their guests. The cost is $12/person. To sign up or if you need a sign-up sheet please contact the office.

Formation Classes – This Sunday we will continue our discussion of “The Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew 5:1-20). All are invited to come together in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am

Sunday’s Psalm – In August, we will recite the psalm on Sunday.

Church Quiz – Over the coming weeks we will have a “Church Quiz” as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question Concerning the books of Judges: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Answer: The book of Judges is found in the Historical Books division of the Old Testament; it has 21 chapters.
This week’s question: Concerning the books of 1 & 2 Kings: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Look for the answer next week.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Aug. 7 – National Night Out; Aug. 11 – James River Rug Hookers; Aug. 14 – Vestry Meeting.

Thought for the weekShare: When you gather around the altar and pray the ‘Great Thanksgiving,’ bring something from your journey to share with Jesus – whether it be a joy, a desire, a need, or something that is burdening you that you need to leave behind.
