Community Thanksgiving Service– The Community Thanksgiving service will be hosted by Perfecting Saints Church of God in Christ at 159 Wren Road. The service will be November 18 beginning at 3:30 pm. Pastor Mary Anne Biggs will be the preacher.

Pledge Cards – Please pick up your pledge card in the Narthex and help us save money on postage. We will have our in gathering of pledges on Dec. 9th.

Guest Clergy – The Rev. John Baldwin will be with us this Sunday, November 18, please come welcome him in his return.

Annual meeting and Vestry Election – We will hold our annual meeting for 2018 on Sunday December 16. At the meeting we will (1) elect two new vestry members to fill positions vacated by Anne and Leone on January 1, 2019, and (2) present the Parish budget for 2019.

Diocesan e-News and email list – Did you know the Diocesan office publishes information that applies across the Diocese on a weekly basis? Did you know you can receive these emails simply by signing up in the box on the upper right corner of the Diocesan website, diosova.org? All you have to do is enter your email address and answer a few more questions to complete your registration.

Bishop Search Listening Sessions – The Nominating/Search Committee invite all Laity and Clergy to come to one of our Convocation Listening Sessions. A summary from the responses to the questionnaire will be shared and we will be asking for your input. These sessions will help us to complete a vibrant and living profile of our Diocese. The date and time for Convocation IV is Nov 28 beginning at 7:00 pm at St. Paul’s Suffolk. See the flyer on the bulletin board for more information.

Holy Land Pilgrimage 2019 – The Rt. Rev. Jay Magness will be leading the Diocese’s second pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2019. The Pilgrimage will be conducted on March 7-18, 2019, is open for diocesan parishioner registration through November 15. After that, any spots remaining will be offered to anyone outside the Diocese. Formation Classes – We concluded our study of Matthew 5-7, the Sermon on the Mount, on Nov. 11. We will begin our next study Nov. 25th.

Sunday’s Psalm – This Sunday we sing the portion of the Psalter together using a metrical version of the Psalter from A New Metrical Psalter by Christopher Webber as we sing the Canticle The Song of Hannah together. The Canticle will be set to Hymn 304, I come with joy to meet my Lord, (Land of Rest) from the Hymnal.

Church Quiz – Over the coming weeks we will have a “Church Quiz” as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
            Last week’s question and answer: Question Concerning the book of Philippians: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Answer: The book of Philippians is found in the Pauline Epistles division of the New Testament; it has 4 chapters.
            This week’s question: Concerning the book of Proverbs: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Look for the answer next week.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.
