Prayers and blessings to you as January (finally) draws to a close. We had a full complement in worship today, one who has been under the weather was back in church today. We also had a couple drop by this afternoon to check things out, just by mistake (they said). It’s always a blessing to invite people into the sanctuary and to talk about our Church and our place in society. Even though things change there is still a place for us to make a difference in people’s lives – and I am blessed to minister with St. John’s.
As we continue our journey this Epiphany season we are invited to spend time reflecting on how God is being made clearer to us day by day. Sometimes clarity comes, like Jesus shows us, through a simple direct statement “the promise made by the prophets has been completed in me” and other times, like we heard in Nehemiah’s story, we need to reflect on God’s promise in light of our experiences. As we hear God’s story told again and again, it is helpful to related God’s promises to others who may not see them clearly, so we can all learn about God’s grace and blessings – no matter how much our life changes.
I invite your comments,
