Diocesan Bishop Search Prayer – Almighty and most gracious God, source of all wisdom and guidance, send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we seek and discern a shepherd for the Diocese of Southern Virginia. Inspire us with hope, hearts to love you and a desire to serve one another. Grant us grace to entrust you with the future of your Church and all things. We ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Lenten Program – Please take a moment and consider what information would be most beneficial for us to study this coming Lent. As you consider what to study, also consider at what time would you participate in the study.

Last week’s question and answer: Question Concerning the book of Zephaniah: which testament is it in? What division is it in? How many chapters does it have? Answer: The book of Zephaniah is found in the Lesser Prophets division of the Old Testament; and it has 3 chapters.

Questions about the Episcopal Church and its Leadership – Over the coming weeks we will have a question about our Church and Leadership as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
This week’s question: Is the Episcopal Church known by any other names? Look for the answer next week.

Altar flower Sign-up – There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for sponsoring flowers for the coming year. Please help beautify the altar during your choice of two-weeks this coming year.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Tuesdays through June: Boy Scouts (7:00 – 8:30 pm); Feb. 8-9 – Annual Council (Williamsburg); Feb 9 – James River Rug Hookers; Feb. 18 – G. F. W. C. Junto Women’s Group.

Thought for the week Hospitality: The welcoming of others—or of our selves—may not often be easy. But we need have no fear. For we practice such mutual hospitality that we may learn to love as God loves, to know ourselves and one another as God’s children, sisters and brothers of Christ, and empowered for service by the Spirit.
