Community Leadership Forum – On Saturday, June 8, from 9:30 am – 12:00 pm there will be a Chuckatuck and Oakland Town Hall meeting with Delegate S. Chris Jones. Delegate Jones represents the 76th Virginia House District for parts of Chesapeake and Suffolk. He will provide comments and take questions from our community. Please attend to learn more about our state government.

Diocesan Bishop Search Prayer – Almighty and most gracious God, source of all wisdom and guidance, send your Holy Spirit to guide us as we seek and discern a shepherd for the Diocese of Southern Virginia. Inspire us with hope, hearts to love you and a desire to serve one another. Grant us grace to entrust you with the future of your Church and all things. We ask in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.

Soles-for-Souls – Edward Jones is sponsoring a shoe collection drive.  The program sends gently used shoes to people in need overseas. Please bring your used shoes to church to help this worthy cause. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.

Formation Classes – All are invited to come together in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am. We will begin a study reflecting on the weekly lessons from the Revised Common Lectionary.

Sunday’s Psalm – This Sunday we recite Psalm 104:25-35, 37b together.

Questions about the Episcopal Church and its Leadership – Over the coming weeks we will have a question about our Church and Leadership as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question: When was the term “Protestant Episcopal Church” adopted for the Episcopal Church? Answer: August 13, 1783.
This week’s question: Who was consecrated the first American Bishop and when was he consecrated? Look for the answer next week.

Altar flower Sign-up – There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for sponsoring flowers for the coming year. Please help beautify the altar during your choice of two-weeks this coming year.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Tuesdays through June: Boy Scouts (7:00 – 8:30 pm); June 8 – James River Rug Hookers; June 9 – Pentecost Sunday and Luncheon; June 16 – Father’s Day; June 17 – Vestry meeting.

Thought for the weekCompanion: Find a safe, trustworthy person and share your heart. Risk telling your story honestly. Share your questions, concerns, beliefs, hopes, longings, heartaches. And be a safe, trustworthy person. Love others by listening well. Weep with those who weep. Light up their life with your face of love.
