It was with sadness that we said goodbye to Virginia Kelly on July 1st. It was heartwarming for all who were there to express their love and condolences to the Kelly family. For those who weren’t able to join us, the church was packed – the only empty pews were in the choir stall, and there were people in the balcony. It was a fitting send-off for a lovely lady.

In our celebration of life and memorial service we shared prayers and hymns of celebration and affirmation of God’s grace. We heard the message of hope and truth in our readings: that God has prepared a place for us and that God’s place is large enough to have everyone beyond imagination present. The hope we are reminded of is that God cares and is intimately connected with us in life and in death. And we were reminded that death isn’t the end – it’s a transition to a new place.

God’s speed to you friend,
