Vestry Care Circles – In the coming weeks, the Vestry will create care circles where each Vestry member will be afforded the responsibility to keep in touch with members of the Parish who may be absent from worship for a period of time. More details are forthcoming.

Altar flower Sign-up – There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for sponsoring flowers for the coming year. Please help beautify the altar during your choice of two-weeks this coming year. Please remember, flowers cost $100 for 2 weeks.

Formation Classes – All are invited to come together in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am. We are continuing our study of the Acts of the Apostles. Please contact the church office for a copy of the text.

Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.

Sunday’s Psalm – This Sunday we sing the portion of the Psalter together using a metrical version of the Psalter from A New Metrical Psalter by Christopher Webber as we sing Psalm 40:1-12 together.

Questions about Our Protestant Heritage – Over the coming weeks we will have a question about our Protestant heritage and faith as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question: When did the Hutterites migrate to North America and where did they take root? Answer. The Hutterites migrated from southern Germany and Moravia to South Dakota, Manitoba, and Alberta in the 1870s.
This week’s question: What are the modern communities associated with the Hutterites? Look for the answer next week.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Tuesdays: Boy Scouts (7:00 – 8:30 pm); Jan. 20 – MLK Memorial Holiday and Worship; Jan. 22 – Endowment Committee meeting; Jan. 28 – Card Crafters.

Thought for the weekInvitation: A serious, adult sensibility can be stifling. As Savior, Jesus names us beloved children. A childlike freedom, perspective, and belonging furthers our salvation. In this new year, listen for God’s invitations to step out and risk, to look low, and to relax into love.
