Questions about Our Protestant Heritage – Over the coming weeks we will have a question about our Protestant heritage and faith as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question: When did the Amish, Mennonite, and Brethren migrate from Europe to North America and from where did the depart? Answer. The parent of those three sects immigrated from Strasbourg and the Netherlands beginning in the early 1700s.
This week’s question: When did the Mennonites begin movement to the United States? Look for the answer next week.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Tuesdays: Boy Scouts (7:00 – 8:30 pm); Jan. 28 – Card Crafters; Feb. 1 – Bishop Consecration; Feb. 6 – Knitting Group; Feb. 8 – Rug Hookers.

Thought for the weekIcon: The New Testament Letter to the Colossians begins with a description of Jesus: “He is the image of the invisible God.” The actual Greek is, “He is the icon [eikon] of the invisible God.” Jesus puts a face, a body, a name, a heart, and hands to the otherwise “invisible God.” Jesus is the icon of the invisible God.
