Sunday Worship – We will conduct a hybrid worship this Sunday in the Parish Hall for worship and have taken steps to provide social distancing and safe worship. We have also set up to live-stream worship on our YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/q10LU5bTwRM.
Please consider assisting with in-person worship by reading a lesson or the Prayers of the People. Lessons will be read from the podium and the Prayers of the People may be read from your seat in church.

All Saints’ and Veterans’ Day – As is our habit, the Office is collecting names for inclusion in the order of worship on All Saints’ Day (November 1) and Veterans’ Day Sunday (November 8). Please see the announcement from the office with specifics.

Pastoral Care until the Rector’s return – The Rector has coordinated with the Very Rev. Dr. Keith Emerson, Rector of St. Paul’s Suffolk, to provide necessary Pastoral Care during his absence. The Vestry has his contact information if Keith needs to be contacted.

2021 Pledge Cards – Please drop by the office to pick up your pledge card for 2021. It is an important part of the St. John’s budget process. Please submit your completed pledge card as soon as possible.

Parish functioning during Rector absence – The Vestry has agreed on a list of items which need attention during the Rector’s recovery. Items that will need assistance are, attending worship, leading worship on 2 Sundays (Morning Prayer), a couple days to check building security, and other sundry items. Please be on the lookout for an email with specific needs.

Treasurer Resignation – Susan has served as Treasurer for number of years. She has tendered her resignation effective January 2021 (although she will assist with the audit). To prepare for the transition, she will train an assistant for the remainder of 2020 in the procedures for the position. If you are interested in serving, please contact the Rector.

St. John’s YouTube Channel – As part of our practice during the COVID-19 Social Distancing time we created a YouTube Channel. For the moment, we share worship videos (both live stream and pre-recorded), but in the future we will connect classes and other offerings on the Channel. Our channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A

Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.

Thought for the week – Change: The loss of control that accompanies the variables of life can be truly terrifying. But when the constancy of faithfulness rises up to meet the unforeseen variable, genuine change is born – and with it, unprecedented Life.
