As we closed our liturgical year today we heard stories of God’s direct interaction with humanity, as a shepherd gathering and guiding us through the wilds of our life. God doesn’t simply set us free without hope, rather God’s promise is to be with us forever – all we have to do is look, respond, and react. Jesus’ parable in Matthew reminds us that God is among us in amazing places; that when we reach out to others we serve God in the process; and that our actions are non-negotiable – as believers we choose to do God’s work and those we work with is based on God’s leading us. When we look for God and believe we’ll find God we do find God; what we look for is what we find and what we find tells us what to look for.
