May God’s grace be with you on Good Friday. It was a special celebration among friends and neighbors at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church along with Oakland Christian United Church of Christ. The readings and music help set the tone for our reflection on the Passion of Jesus. This evening, we explored our discomfort with Good Friday and how God joins us in our discomfort. We see a model of our Savior laying himself bare in humanity with fear and a sense of abandonment. Yet, Jesus also helps us take heart, the darkness – while real and present will not win forever. We know, even in our anger at God and our sense that God has left us to fend for ourselves, God knows those emotions through the life and sacrifice of Jesus. May the remainder of your Holy Week journey be fruitful and blessed.
