Our worship began the journey in the post-Pentecost time. Our readings today focused on the things that are “allowed” on the Sabbath (which is allowed, to do good or to harm?) and how the Sabbath was created for humans not the other way around. But we took a harder look at the Hebrew scripture and the interaction of Eli and Samuel and how each day is a day to listen for God’s guidance and say “speak Lord, for your servant is listening.”

I invite your comments,

Readings: 1 Samuel 3:1-20; Psalm 139:1-5, 12-17; 2 Corinthians 4:5-12; Mark 2:23-3:6
