As we gathered for worship today we heard scripture which recounted the death of Absalom, David’s son, directly against David’s wishes. We also heard about the depths of despair, not only from David but the Psalmist who cried out to God for deliverance. We also heard a challenge in our New Testament to live in community, not focused on being all alike but on being united in the Spirit as a body – more like a musical chord than a unison note – even when we find it difficult to get past our own humanness; the Holy Spirit can bridge the gap in our interactions with others. How do you feel the movement of the Spirit in your life?
