In worship today we heard about the gladness felt by the return of the Israelites from exile in Babylon; how the highway in the desert would be straight and there would be none to deter them in their journey. We heard James remind Christians to be patient, God is coming back, and hopeful in all they do. But to not be surprised by God’s return we need to be prepared. Our sermon focused on Matthew and reaching understanding when it comes to God. Our story showed that asking questions and participating in answers brings more than information – it brings understanding. But Jesus reminds us to say what it is that we are looking for when we interact with God and God’s creation.
