Lenten Study – We will continue our discussion of a program entitled Reclaiming Jesus: A Confession of Faith in a Time of Crisis. Thank you to all who attended the first session and thank you to Anne for soup and bread. While helpful, it is not necessary to attend every session – our next meeting will be March 25. For more information or if you have questions please contact the Rector.

COVID-19 precautions – We are taking precautions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. While nobody at St. John’s has been infected, we are monitoring the situation in Hampton Roads and will respond accordingly. While your presence in worship is important to us as a family, we understand the unknowns of the infection will lead some to not venture out. There will be some changes in how we worship together. If you do not feel well, please stay home. I echo the main CDC advice – personal hygiene is crucial to prevent spreading the disease. If you need pastoral attention please contact the Rector.

Questions about Our Protestant Heritage – Over the coming weeks we will have a question about our Protestant heritage and faith as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.

Thought for the weekSigns of Life – Water Day Two: Mystery – A lot of people try to make God domestic. God becomes the “Hail Mary, full of grace, help me find a parking space” God. But this means missing the absolutely unfathomable power of God, like you can see at Niagara Falls. That’s what water can teach us about God: you can’t bottle God.
