In worship we were challenged by Luke’s gospel and how we are invited to be ready (more appropriately – be alert for the change that is coming so we aren’t surprised) and to remember that God’s greatest joy is to lavish us with God’s blessing; not to punish humanity. The letter to the Hebrews reminds us to have faith; and that those who are our predecessors had faith against long odds. But we focused on the opening of Isaiah’s prophesy – Isaiah’s reminder that our rituals are not the thing that God is looking for; rather that we do the right thing in our community and hold up our end of God’s kingdom.

I invite your comments,
