In worship today (which you can catch at the link below), we celebrated the 4th Sunday in Lent, also known as Laetare Sunday, a Sunday of celebration in Lent. We were reminded that God sent Jesus to bring life and sustenance for those who trust in God and Jesus. Our Epistle from Ephesians served as a reminder of our need to be light and to shine light on the truth – to cast out fear and discontent. John’s gospel tells the story of the healing of the man born blind – even though he can’t say who or what made him able to see it was still Jesus’ presence that helped him see. Our focus in the sermon was on Samuel and the anointing of David to replace Saul as king. Samuel expressed his fears to God and, in response, God acknowledged those fears and offered confidence that God would be with him if only Samuel trusted God to be there. Our journey in the coming months will be a time of trusting God.

I invite your comments,
