Greening of the Church – Thank you to all who helped decorate the Church last Sunday.

Advent Study and Soup luncheon – Thank you to all who participated in the study and those who provided soup, bread, and goodies.

“Job Jar” – The Vestry has moved to create a “Job Jar” that will be filled with simple tasks that will help do simple maintenance around the church grounds. The goal is to break down needed repairs to 30-60-minute tasks that anyone can do. The jar will be in the Parish House or Sanctuary, depending on the day. Stop by and help do some needed work at the Church.

Church Quiz – Over the coming weeks we will have a “Church Quiz” as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question What do the Greek characters “alpha and omega” stand for? Answer: The letters Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek language, thus signifying that God is, according to the Revelation to John, “the One who is, who was, and who is to come.”
This week’s question: What are the topical divisions of the Old Testament? Look for the answer next week.

Formation Classes – This week we will discuss our Old Testament response, Luke 1:46b-55, “Mary’s Song of Praise.” Next week we will discuss our Psalm, Psalm 147, “Praise for God’s Care for Jerusalem.” All are invited to join the conversation in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am.

Sunday’s Psalm – This Sunday the psalm will be recited.

2018 Flower Chart – The schedule for 2018 is posted in the Narthex. Please sign-up for your special days. If you have any questions, contact Lynn.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Ongoing: Tuesdays – Boy Scouts meeting (returning in the New Year). Dec. 24 – Christmas Eve service, 5:00 pm; Dec. 30 – Salvation Army luncheon; Dec. 31 – Christmas Lessons and Carols.

Thought for the week – Commit: In Jesus, the God of heaven and earth chose to express a radical commitment to us in accepting the limitation of a human birth and personhood. Any commitment we make to God as Christians, therefore, is not a commitment to an idea or a principle, but a Person, who is love and relationship incarnate.
