Blessings to all as we complete our Advent journey – our season of preparation for Christmas and the mystery of Jesus, Mary, and God. It was a blessing to have many pews full and heart warming that our Parish wanted to finish the complete Advent journey. We drew a close to a season of introspection and reflection, drawing ourselves closer to the others who are members of our community, images of God, and quite possibly different from us. May you be welcomed in all you do this Christmas season.
In worship we closed our Advent journey with a refreshing of the promises given by God to God’s chosen people. God has promised, since before Abraham, through the sin-filled life of David, to the life of Blessed Mary, and now to our age. God’s promises include being able to do what we doubt as possible (a virgin giving birth), creating a family to lead God’s people even when they are sinful (David), and life changing for those who say yes to God. How has God called you to mark a change of direction or perception this Advent? How are you moving forward with Mary’s confidence to say yes when it is hard to say yes?
I invite your comments,
