We hope you’re having a Super Sunday today. February dawned overcast but is becoming bright and cheerful. Today was a day to celebrate our life together in community; to welcome returning newcomers and to share God’s table with friend and neighbor alike. Our “mascot” was waiting for us after worship – Dante (the Jack Russell Terrier) served as greeter after church and even joined us for fellowship in the Parish Hall. It is nice to celebrate with all God’s creatures in our presence.
Our worship was filled with stories and songs of saltiness, being visible light not hidden under a bushel, and returning to God in relationship. Jesus reminded his society that his purpose was not to abolish the “law” (whatever that was) but to fulfill God’s law. The law we have been given was highlighted last week: do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. The worship and actions we share with our community and focusing on God help us return to our center and the foundation laid by God. Our job in our society is to help others realize God at center is where true joy and success are found. How are you empowered through worship to be restorers of relationships?
I invite your comments,
Les+
