Welcome one and all to Daylight Savings Time! Even though we misplaced an hour last night we had a good worship today and gave thanks that the forecasted snow did not materialize (at least yet). But, there was a slight tinge of winter or at least the late-winter effect around this morning. Many thanks to all who were with us this morning, it has been a long week with a couple funerals and the time change. Good to know that God doesn’t change, even when our situation changes.
In worship we heard the story of God’s call to Abram to go from Haran to the Promise Land. God promised to bless Abram; interesting because Abram, by most human standards, was blessed with family, things, and land. We also heard the pearl from John 3 and the interchange between Jesus and Niccodemus. Ultimately, Jesus reminded Niccodemus he lacked something in his relationship with God. Our Lenten journey is a time when we can ask that pressing question: What is lacking in my relationship with God? And, where is God calling me to a different place to fill what is missing?
I invite your comments,
