July madly approaches its close but not before having a tantrum with heat, humidity, and rain. It’s been a blessing to be back in town but this past week has been oppressive – thankfully our Parish family is, for the most part, hanging in there. This past week we opened our doors to the community to share a video about opioid addiction and have a conversation about what we’ve seen. Moving video to say the least. We have also spent time reinforcing our relationships with nearby churches – a fun part of ministry to say the least.
As we gather for worship today we heard stories of Jacob (rightly) running for his life and God meeting him with a promise of providence. We were also reminded that God knows everything about us (and still wants to be in a relationship with us) and that God will let us be until the harvest-time is ready. We are invited today, as always to find God present in our current place and to share the gift of God’s presence. We need to work because that’s out job.
I invite your comments,
Les+
