Sunday Worship – The Rector will celebrate Spiritual Communion on premiered on YouTube this Sunday at 10:30 am. A link will be forthcoming for worship. Please join us on Sunday.
Zoom Coffee Hour – We will also hold a Zoom Coffee Hour Sunday. Joining information is forthcoming. Please join us.
In-person Gathering Plan – While the Vestry will vote on the plan for regathering on Monday, in-person worship will be different than it was at the beginning of the year. While the details are not complete, those joining us when we regather should expect: social distancing in the pews; wearing facemasks except to consume Communion; Communion in one kind; no or limited singing; and a contact tracing log. We should expect there will be little or no touching – passing the peace, the exit gauntlet, etc. More information will follow.
Delegate and Alternate for FY 2021 – We need to elect one Parish Delegate and Alternate to serve July 1, 2020 through June 20, 2021. If you are interested in serving or need more information about requirements, please contact the Rector.

Treasurer Resignation – Susan has served as Treasurer for number of years. She has tendered her resignation effective January 2021 (although she will assist with the audit). To prepare for the transition, she will train an assistant for the remainder of 2020 in the procedures for the position. If you are interested in serving, please contact the Rector.
St. John’s YouTube Channel – As part of our practice during the COVID-19 Social Distancing time we created a YouTube Channel. For the moment, we share worship videos (both live stream and pre-recorded), but in the future we will connect classes and other offerings on the Channel. If we can get at least 100 subscribers on the channel we will get a unique URL to make our site easier to find. Please subscribe and have your friends subscribe at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A
Prayer and Worship in Our Homes – ChurchNext (an online learning portal) is offering a free course entitled Prayer and Worship in Our Homes through their website http://churchnext.tv. This is a good course that will help everyone navigate their prayer and worship in this time of social distancing (and beyond). Please consider taking this course (along with me), it is enlightening for those who are looking for the next steps in their practice of faith.
Formation Classes – Are suspended until further notice.
Altar flower Sign-up – There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex for sponsoring flowers for the coming year which will not become necessary until we reconvene for worship. As the day approaches, please help beautify the altar during your choice of two-weeks this coming year. Please remember, flowers cost $100 for 2 weeks.
Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.
Upcoming Parish Events – Suspended until further notice.
Thought for the week – Discernment: When we give ourselves over to the guidance and care of Jesus, we begin a journey of discernment in prayer that will lead us to the life of abundance that Jesus promises. This does not mean we are passive participants in the Christian life; we have our part to play in active discernment and then action based on the example of Jesus.
