Blessings to you on this special day. Spring is returning (for now) on the Sunday before Valentine’s Day. After a few blustery days it was a blessing to settle in for a warm and breezy morning. Good news around the Parish: health concerns are getting better, families are banding together in love and celebration, and the Church contemplates our 375th Anniversary. A blessing all around.

In worship today we realized it was the 6th Sunday after the Epiphany and that the journey has become a bit “old hat” at times. We’ve heard about the Epiphany about Jesus as savior and God incarnate. As we began our sermon we took a poll: which denomination do you claim as your founding denomination? The answers ran the gamut from Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Holiness, and a couple non-denominational churches. Paul reminds us that God is not divided but that our division and distinction is a human construct. But that diversity can actually lead to unity if we remember the truth: God is one and wants to be in relationship with all humanity. Where do you see diversity to know more of God?

I invite your comments,
Les+
