Merry Christmas to all! Greetings after our Christmas Eve worship service. Things today settled out after being blustery most of the day and trying to rain until service started. We had many of our Parish family in attendance and helping us celebrate Jesus’ birth.
We heard the story of Jesus’ birth as told by Luke. Born in Bethlehem to Mary and Joseph who were relegated to a stable because there was no room in the inn. Our readings remind us that Jesus came to save all creation, but not from a place of power but from the place of need. Jesus was born by the marginalized, on the margin of society, and proclaimed by the marginalized (shepherds) – because those are the ones who especially need the message of Christ. Our response to the promise delivered on that day is to take that message of hope and promise and declare it across God’s creation.
I invite your comments,
