Stop by and help do some needed work at the Church.

Church Quiz – Over the coming weeks we will have a “Church Quiz” as part of our announcements and e-News. All are invited to think about and answer the week’s question. Answers will be provided the following week.
Last week’s question and answer: Question What does the term “liturgy” mean? Answer: Literally, liturgy is the public work of the Church.
This week’s question: Where is the form for the liturgy found in the Episcopal Church? Look for the answer next week.

Formation Classes – This week we will discuss our Old Testament reading Deuteronomy 34:1-12, “Moses Dies and Is Buried in the Land of Moab.” Next week we will discuss our Gospel reading Matthew 23:1-12, “Jesus Denounces Scribes and Pharisees.” All are invited to join the conversation in the Parish Hall from 9:15 to 10:15 am.

Sunday’s Psalm – This Sunday we sing the portion of the Psalter together using a metrical version of the Psalter from A New Metrical Psalter by Christopher Webber as we sing Psalm 90:1-6, 13-17 together. The Psalm will be set to Hymn 680, “O God, our help in ages past” (St. Anne) from the Hymnal. The words and music will be found on a bulletin insert.

Hospitality hour Sign-up – The sign-up sheet is on the bulletin board; please sign-up for an upcoming Sunday. If you would like to help but cannot provide all the items for coffee hour/lemonade on the lawn any assistance, even a single item, will be graciously accepted.

Upcoming Parish Events – Ongoing: Tuesdays – Boy Scouts meeting. Oct. 28 – Parish Work Day; Oct. 29 – All Saints’ Potluck & Town Hall Meeting; Nov. 7 – G. F. W. C. Junto event.

Thought for the week – Worship: The praise and presence and service of God is at the center of our lives. Whether you are preaching a sermon or washing a window or pulling a weed, you are learning to “pray your life,” to use a phrase from our own Rule of Life.
