Oh, what a beautiful morning! It really was a beautiful day and the countdown to Pentecost and our 375th Anniversary celebration swings into full gear. We have seen a lot of work around the yard, cleaning out flower beds, getting weeds out of the walkway, and making sure our 80+ guests in 2 weeks see a church like they remember – a homecoming of sorts. The day broke clear, bright, and cool – a welcome change from the past week.

In worship, the tone of the readings showed much of the “other side” of the Christian story: persecution, being placed on trial, having to make a defense (with reverence and gentleness), and the need for an advocate (Paraclete). Yet we heard the truth, that God continues to walk with us and guide us when we listen: to God, to our community, and to each other. Where are you asked to listen to another’s story and see where God is leading you?

I invite your comments and likes,
