Winter has come and gone, at least for another week in Chuckatuck. We had our second snowstorm in a week and dealt with the cold a little too. But our Parish was undeterred in worship this morning and we turned out to a bright, sunny day. We spent time studying and reflecting on the prophet Obadiah before church – a prophet who is especially relevant today.
Our scripture led us on a journey of listening for God’s call and responding to the call. We saw our typical human responses – immediate response; skipping our response because it didn’t feel right; and finally responding after being called many times. We thought about how hard it can be to hear God in the noise of life and realized that God invites us to wait silently and our soul will show where God is touching us, leading us to greater things. We still hear God today. Where is God calling you?
I invite your comments,
