Greetings to you as we’ve begun our Lenten journey and turned the page to March. We are thankful for the journey through Epiphany and all the times our eyes have been opened to God’s presence; in new ways even in the midst of the routine of February. We celebrated with our Diocesan family this past weekend at Bishop Susan Haynes’ first annual council. We learned about the endless opportunity we are being shepherded towards. We pray for you as you begin your Lenten journey.
Our worship was informed by a collection of Scripture. We started in Genesis with God’s sending Adam and Eve into the garden to live then the serpent leading Adam and Eve astray. Our Gospel focused on the Satan’s temptation of Christ three times following his baptism and 40 days in the wilderness. Part of the story of our life as believers is wrapped up in the story that begins with God declaring humanity very good in creation and continues through God’s becoming human for our sake – so we will remember that our sin doesn’t permanently change God’s love for us, it just clouds our vision of God’s love.
I invite your comments,
