Virginia Legal Aid Society – VLAS has opened an office in Suffolk at 155 E. Washington St. We have flyers with more information.

Relaxation of COVID measures – Your Vestry has approved a variety of changes in how we will gather and worship as the COVID-19 pandemic begins to abate. For our worship, we will begin singing (a little) on June 6 and will target being back in the sanctuary on July 4. As we have been absent from the sanctuary for over a year, there are a few items to address before we can worship in a restored space. Your patience is appreciated.

Questions to consider – (1) What gifts have we, as individuals or as a church, been given to share with our community? (2) Who do we have contact with that we can share our church with?

Worship Volunteers – Thank you to Jim for reading last week during worship.

St. John’s YouTube Channel – As we transition from worshipping in the Parish Hall we will continue to live stream (if possible) and publish recorded worship on our YouTube channel. Our channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A

Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.

Thought for the weekProclaim: Evangelism is a natural response to an action that has been set in motion by God. Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth to share the good news that she had received from the angel. The leper who was once an outcast went among the townspeople freely proclaiming the good news of his being made whole by Jesus. When receiving good news you can’t help but share it because it bursts forth from your inner most core and radiates outwards. What is God doing in your life? How can you then participate in this action?
