Meals on Wheels – Meals on Wheels Suffolk needs volunteers to deliver meals in Suffolk, Isle of Wight, and Smithfield. Deliveries are accomplished Monday – Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Sign up online at www.suffolkmealsonwheels.com. For more information contact 757-934-4911.

Brats and “Crab” – We are planning to have a “crab” (that looks like chicken) and Brat dinner for the Parish on August 29. Please standby for more details.

Sanctuary work – There was a detailed investigation of the Sanctuary by Atlas Master Company recently. There will be detailed recommendations identifying the maintenance needed to secure the building.

Questions to consider – (1) What gifts have we, as individuals or as a church, been given to share with our community? (2) Who do we have contact with that we can share our church with?

Thought for the week – Pause: Sometimes we look around and wonder: Is it making any difference? Am I running in place? Are you running with me Jesus? That moment is a chance to pause – it may be more than a pause, a long night, a dark season. Here, Jesus’ words catch up: “Have no fear, what you hear in the dark, tell in the light; the hairs of your head are all counted, you are of much value.” In that still darkness, I can perceive again the loving gaze of the Father, the stirring power of the Spirit, and Brother Jesus’ hand grabs mine and leads me on.
