Parish House reshingling – The roofing company is busy reshingling the Parish House. Weather depending, there are probably 2 more weeks work. Estimated completion date is August 13.

Meals on Wheels – Meals on Wheels Suffolk needs volunteers to deliver meals in Suffolk, Isle of Wight, and Smithfield. Deliveries are accomplished Monday – Friday from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Sign up online at www.suffolkmealsonwheels.com. For more information contact 757-934-4911.

Sanctuary work – There was a detailed investigation of the Sanctuary by Atlas Master Company recently. There will be detailed recommendations identifying the maintenance needed to secure the building.

Questions to consider – (1) What gifts have we, as individuals or as a church, been given to share with our community? (2) Who do we have contact with that we can share our church with?

Thought for the week – Fear: “Why are you afraid?” Jesus asks us. Jesus longs to hear why. Jesus longs to be invited into your fear. And if you’re afraid that you are going to lose your life, or lose some part life, you don’t need to be afraid even of that. Why? Because it’s going to happen. We all are going to lose our lives; we’re all going to lose the life that we now recognize. But Jesus assures us that in losing our lives we find life. Not to fear.
