CAPS Fundraiser
– CAPS will have their annual fundraiser on Sunday, September 17. They are selling take-out BBQ from Captain Bob’s for $13/plate. Meals will include BBQ, fried chicken, slaw, hush puppies, and green beans. We have 50 tickets to sell so invite your friends and neighbors to buy a ticket to support CAPS. See the flyer on the bulletin board for more information.

Communion reminder – Gluten free wafers are available during Eucharist. If you prefer a gluten free wafer, please inform the Rector or an usher.

Our Chanco Staff member – We have been blessed to offer prayers and, if we feel moved, to send cards and care packages to Summer Staff member, Krystal Barnes. The biggest gift we can offer is our prayers during the camping season. If you would like to send her a note, send it c/o Chanco on the James, 394 Floods Dr., Spring Grove VA 23881-7927.

Vestry member – There has been a resignation from the Vestry, and we need a volunteer to agree to serve. If you are willing to serve, please contact the Rector or any Vestry member.

Ladies Luncheon Outing – The ladies of the Parish luncheons will be on the 2nd Thursday of the month. We will try different restaurants. Please watch for announcements.

Thought for the weekBeauty:  What labels have I used to describe myself? What names do I secretly call myself? In what ways do I criticize or belittle myself? The challenge is to peel back the label and take a fresh look. Can I see myself as Jesus sees me? If we can get past our labels, we might be able to see the beauty in others and in ourselves.
