Altar Flower sponsoring – There is a signup sheet to sponsor flowers during 2022 in the Sanctuary. Please signup to help enhance the appearance of the Sanctuary during worship. Contact Lynn if you have any questions.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities – The Episcopal Church is asking for donations to support HBCU through the Absalom Jones Fund at the Feast of Absalom Jones on Feb. 13. Please see the letter on the bulletin board for more information.

Mutual Ministry Review follow-up – This process will continue on Feb 9th, at 12:00 noon.  We will start with lunch.  Marcella has volunteered to host the lunch.  If you would like to assist, please contact Marcella.

In-person Worship update – Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases, we will enforce the things we have already doing as part of our corporate life. We will observe masking for all who are at worship and practice social distancing. Please join us for worship or watch the post-production video at the link listed above. Hopefully, the greater vigilance will be relaxed soon.

What does it mean to believe? – Belief is not something we think, but something we do: it’s the ways we experience God’s presence in our life; it’s the ways we engage with the scriptures and other sacred stories; it’s even the ways we question our faith. Cowley Magazine (Epiphany 2022)

Pledge Cards – When will we stop accepting pledge card for 2022? Never. If you haven’t turned in a pledge, please consider doing so to St. John’s in the coming year. Pray for direction for our Parish as we move forward to our future and share our space with others so that we may be changed to a fuller image of God in Christ.

Questions to consider – As we consider where we are called to move after COVID, I offer these questions. (1) Who are we? (2) What do we mean to each other? (3) What does it mean to be together? (4) How are we loving each other? (5) What can we do to be together?

Parish House Roof – It appears the manufacturer is having difficulties producing shingles (worker issue not materials issue). The estimated delivery date is February 2022. The contractor will provide a more permanent (and visually appealing) fix in the meantime.

Thought for the weekPresence: God is already here, but we won’t realize it until we combine true worship with genuine mercy and justice. Then, in the faces of the poor, we will hear God say, “Here I am.”
