Sunday Worship – The Rector continues to test positive for COVID, although his symptoms are nearly gone. Kathy is starting to feel better also. In light of his illness, we will have Morning Prayer again this week. Please come and join us for worship.
Blessing of the Animals – On Sunday, Oct. 9, from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, the Rector will “set up shop” and offer prayers and a blessing of the animals for the community. The blessing will be held in the church yard. Bring your pets and animals by anytime between 1:00 and 3:00 pm to receive prayers and a blessing. Invite your friends for a blessing in honor of St. Francis.
CAPS annual fundraiser – Thank you to all who helped with the annual CAPS fundraiser. The preliminary results indicate CAPS raised their target amount. They apologize to those who waited in line, some as long as 80 minutes – there was an issue with the caterer and their staff.
Worship Schedule – The Rector will celebrate Communion at Emmanuel Church, Franklin on Oct. 2 to support their Deacon-in-Charge. St. John’s will read Morning Prayer in the Parish Hall in his absence.

Ukrainian Relief – The Episcopal Relief and Development is gathering and sending relief assistance to the Ukraine. Donations to Episcopal Relief & Development’s Ukraine Crisis Response Fund will help the organization and its partners continue to provide assistance to people displaced by the crisis in Ukraine. Please consider assisting with this call to minister.
Thought for the week – Holy Cross: In the cross are treasures too many to number, joy too full to contain, power stronger than death. Consider the cross, the tool by which God wrought our salvation when we were helpless in sin; it is a tool for your prayer. What have you found in the cross of Christ? Come, find the cross anew and be refreshed.
