Ladies Luncheon Outing
– The ladies of the Parish luncheons will be on Thursday October 12 at The Taste of Smithfield, 217 Main St. Smithfield. Lunch begins at 11:30 am. Please contact Dotty Cox to RSVP.

Future Visioning – Because Fr. Ferguson is departing following worship on November 5, all members of the Parish will be asked to assist in determining the future of St. John’s. Along with assistance from the Diocesan Staff we will determine what our future ministry in Chuckatuck will be. Please watch for further announcements.

Diocesan Tidings – Your Diocesan staff publishes a weekly newsletter, the Tidings, which lists the happenings in the Diocese and shares stories from around Southern Virginia. If you haven’t subscribed already, you can sign up for this informative newsletter at this link.

Thought for the weekJustice:  Why does God care about politics and systemic injustice? Because God cares about suffering. The mission of God is transformation. It seeks to challenge unjust systems, stands in opposition to violence of every kind, and strives to establish God’s reign of justice and peace on the earth.
