Happy New (liturgical) Year! We pray you had a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends, or simply a special day to offer thanks for all God’s blessings and bounty. We began our new liturgical year with a rainy Sunday but we weren’t dampened by the weather – we welcomed the new year along with some guests in Church. It was a blessing to have most of our folks in Church along with our guests. It was a fitting day to start our journey in 2019-2020.

As we began our day we gathered for worship and for our offering of prayers and hymns that remind us about the need to prepare. Much of our scripture reminded us that “now” is the time to prepare – partly because God’s return is imminent but is also expected at some time in the future. We were reminded that our preparation is led by study of scripture, gathering for worship, and dedication to our mission – relationship with God in Christ. Where is God and our hope in God leading us in our preparation this season?

I invite your comments,
Les+
