Observing Daylight Saving Time – This Sunday morning at 2:00 am, we will advance our clocks 1 hour. Please remember to “spring ahead” and join worship on time Sunday.

Sunday Worship – We will conduct a remote worship as part of our COVID response and to provide safe worship. For those desiring, please contact the Rector to pick up pre-consecrate elements for at-home Communion. We will live-stream worship on our YouTube channel at: https://youtu.be/hm8hw3ZCfi8.

Reconvening for In-person Worship – As the percent positive and infection rate from COVID has decreased in our area, we will reconvene for in-person worship on March 21. We will continue to simulcast worship via YouTube and worship in the Parish Hall. Please come join us in worship.

Bishop’s Visitation – Thank you to all who participated in Bp. Susan’s visitation and coffee hour last Sunday. She was happy to be with us, even if only remotely for most. She was impressed with our Parish and the holiness she feels here.

Lenten Study – We will continue our study of The Way of Love: Life Transformed: The Way of Love in Lent Wednesday midday during Lent. We will use Zoom to hold the class and joining details and course information will be provided separately.

Flowers on the Altar – While we may not be worshipping in person, there are flowers on the altar during the worship service. Please volunteer to sponsor flowers by contacting the office. The first three available dates are: Apr 18-25, May 2-9, and May 16-23.

Lenten Devotions – These are available from the Episcopal Relief and Development online at http://www.episcopalrelief.org/lent. If you need assistance downloading or getting a copy, please contact the office.

St. John’s YouTube Channel – As part of our practice during the COVID-19 Social Distancing time we created a YouTube Channel. For the moment, we share worship videos (both live stream and pre-recorded), but in the future we will connect classes and other offerings on the Channel. Our channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A

Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.

Thought for the weekSigns: Life is sacramental: the outward signs reveal the inward grace. The outward sign of bread and wine at the altar are what they are — real bread from the earth and wine, the fruit of the vine — and yet they are revelatory of more, of Jesus’ real presence. That sacramental principle is a template for life. The whole of life is intended to be like that: sacramental. It is what it is, and yet it is symbolic of something more, a channel of revelation.
