Alleluia! Christ is risen! The Lord is risen indeed. Alleluia! Grace and peace to you on the feast of the Resurrection. It was a bright sunny day in Chuckatuck as we celebrated Easter Sunday. It would have been refreshing to have our sunrise service today but things just didn’t work out for that. Still, there was a nice turnout for Church and we look forward to the coming Easter season. We pray you have had a good Easter celebration with family and friends.
In worship today we gathered to hear the reminder that Christ’s resurrection serves to deliver us from the power of the enemy and death. We were also reminded that because of Jesus’ resurrection those who believe will be found for eternal life. Our first reading today came from the Acts of the Apostles relates the promise that God doesn’t show partiality and welcomes all who come to God. And we are called to share the message of salvation. The gospel reading from John tells the story of Mary and the empty tomb and how the message of the resurrection moved from one to many. Our sermon today focused on the reading from Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians. We are reminded by Paul that we are part of a bigger story and that the story of God’s grace and connection to humans through Jesus is what brings humans to believe; and that through believing we are able to see God’s presence among us. Our mission is to be like Mary and spread the message of God’s grace to the corners of the world.
Happy Easter and I invite your comments,
