Sunday Worship – We will simulcast Holy Communion at 10:30 for those who will continue to participate remotely. Please contact the Rector to pick up pre-consecrate elements for at-home Communion if you would like. The link to worship on our YouTube channel at https://youtu.be/HzKJ4U4FcZQ.
Prayer Vigil – There will be a prayer vigil at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 18 at the Prayer Labyrinth at Lake Prince Woods. The vigil will be a time for us to gather so we can listen to one another, share our hearts, and search for answers from God.
Pastor Transitions – Pastor Mary Anne Biggs is retiring and will celebrate her final worship at Oakland Christian UCC in August. Please offer her God’s mercy as she retires.
Pastor Ileana Rosario (formerly at Wesley Chapel) has started her ministry at Benn’s Church UMC. Welcome back to Pastor Rosario.

Flea Market – GFWC Junto Woman’s Club will have their annual Flea Market Sat. June 19th at Oakland Christian United Church of Christ from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Zoom Coffee Hour – We will have a Zoom Coffee hour Sunday June 27. Joining instructions will be forwarded separately. Please join us for fellowship on Sunday.
Relaxation of COVID measures – Your Vestry has approved a variety of changes in how we will gather and worship as the COVID-19 pandemic begins to abate. For our worship, we will begin singing (a little) on June 6 and will target being back in the sanctuary on July 4. As we have been absent from the sanctuary for over a year, there are a few items to address before we can worship in a restored space. Your patience is appreciated.
Questions to consider – (1) What gifts have we, as individuals or as a church, been given to share with our community? (2) Who do we have contact with that we can share our church with?
Worship Volunteers – Thank you to Lynn for reading last week during worship.
St. John’s YouTube Channel – As we transition from worshipping in the Parish Hall we will continue to live stream (if possible) and publish recorded worship on our YouTube channel. Our channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A
Soles-for-Souls – There is a collection box to help this worthy cause in the parish hall. Consider giving gently used or new shoes for those in need. For more information see their website: www.soles4souls.org.
Thought for the week – Faith: It’s not great faith that you need, but faith in a great God. Faith is like a window you look through. It doesn’t matter if the window is six feet high or six inches, or just the tiniest peephole in a telescope. What matters is the God that your faith is looking out on.
