Advent Series – There will be an Advent Study over lunch on Dec. 1, 8, 15, and 22. The session will run from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. The topic will be finalized shortly. Contact the office to sign up to host the lunch for one of the sessions.
Questions to consider – As we consider where we are called to move after COVID, I offer these questions. (1) Who are we? (2) What do we mean to each other? (3) What does it mean to be together? (4) How are we loving each other? (5) What can we do to be together?
Potluck – We the members of St. John’s will have a potluck on Sunday, Dec 12. A sign of life returning to normal. We will have social distancing. Please respond to let us know if you will be attending. We would like to know how many tables to set up. We will be taking social distancing into consideration when we set up.
Worship Service video – A post-production video of worship will be on our YouTube channel on Sunday afternoon. A link to the video will be provided separately. Our channel URL is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2QWNHHKVPYpp8mKcveYd5A

Vestry Election 2021 – We will hold an election for two new Vestry members at the end of this year. The Vestry election will fill the remainder of Leone’s term and fill for a term ending in 2024. We have one person who has stepped up to serve. It is expected the meeting time will continue to be midday in the middle of the week. If you are willing to serve, please contact the Rector.
Pledge Cards – As pledge card distribution approaches, please consider how you will pledge time, talent, and treasure to St. John’s in the coming year. Pray for direction for our Parish as we move forward to our future and share our space with others so that we may be changed to a fuller image of God in Christ.
Something to Ponder – Do we invite others to join us to become just like us? Or do we invite others to join us that we might be transformed into a new creation in God? Your thoughts are welcome.
Parish House Roof – It appears the manufacturer is having difficulties producing shingles (worker issue not materials issue). The estimated delivery date is February 2022. The contractor will provide a more permanent (and visually appealing) fix in the meantime.
Salvation Army Christmas 2021 – The Salvation Army Suffolk will be holding their Christmas drives. More information is forthcoming.
Thought for the week – Serve: Caring for people who are hungry or homeless or imprisoned is not only our duty; it is also our joy. It is a privileged way of serving God, because it mirrors an essential aspect of God’s own character. God is biased towards the poor and bestows special favor on the dispossessed – and asks us to do the same.
